Position Description
Our client is seeking a new VP – Risk Management to add to their team. The VP will work with all groups within US Retail, including the operations, legal and compliance, national accounts and product management team on assessing, monitoring and reporting operational risk. This position includes the active participation in internal projects, ongoing identification, analysis and evaluation of risks and, where necessary, formulation of detailed proposals to improve/eliminate/reinstate controls in order to mitigate operational risks efficiently.
A successful candidate will have proven capabilities to use their project management and quantitative and qualitative analytical abilities. This position requires a dynamic, yet analytical professional who can assess business risks (regulatory, legal, operational).
Prominent among the qualities we seek is the ability to think strategically and creatively. Also important are a supportive and accessible management style, strong collaboration and teamwork skills and a strong commitment to personal and professional development. The candidate must bring to the job a high degree of personal integrity and a commitment to values that to foster initiative, integrity, and excellence in an environment of collegiality, civility, and responsible stewardship.
Requirements
Candidates must possess a four-year college degree from a top tier institution with a preferred major in Math/Statistics, Economics, or Finance.
An MBA and progress toward the CFA designation is preferred.
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively.
Experience working cross-functionally among teams and business groups.
