International eye research organization seeks research scientist to develop scientific program content and serve as a science policy advisor. Responsibilities include: preparing position papers, testimony, and reports; writing and reviewing press releases for scientific accuracy and readability; attending meetings as a representative of the organization and reporting on the outcomes; assisting with development of scientific program content at association-sponsored conferences and meetings; serving as liaison to other organizations; assisting senior staff with planning, evaluation, and dissemination of scientific programs and materials. Requires: ability to analyze, prepare, and present science information to a variety of audiences, including staff, Board, and members; experience with use of communication and web-based tools; PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in the life sciences with research or policy experience.
